Turkey scrambled F-16 jets to intercept a Russian fighter plane that violated its air space near the Syrian border on Monday, forcing it to turn back, AFP reported.
Turkey has made a “strong protest” over the incident on Saturday to the Russian ambassador in Ankara, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
