AFP, Honolulu, Hawaii, 12 Nov 2011 – US President Barack Obama on Saturday praised the ‘leadership’ of the Arab League after the grouping suspended Syria in a move further deepening the isolation of the government in Damascus.
‘The United States joins with the Arab League in its support for the Syrian people, who continue to demand their universal rights in the face of the regime’s callous violence,’ Obama said in a written statement.
