
The United States and European Union on Monday, April 28th, slapped new sanctions against Russia. US sanctions are against 7 Russian officials and 17 companies, including those in Putin’s inner circle.
Simultaneously, the European Union approved sanctions against 15 other officials that are said to have a hand in the unrest in Ukraine.
Fresh US sanctions were announced by President Barack Obama during his trip to the Philippines.
Canada on Monday also blacklisted and sanctioned two companies and 9 officials of Russia. In response, Moscow has said it will deliver a ‘painful’ blow to new US sanctions.
