Switzerland has imposed sanctions on Syrian dictator Bashar Assad and his elements. According to these measures Assad and nine members of his inner circle will not be allowed to travel to Switzerland or pass through its territory.
Canada has imposed a series of economic and political punishments on the Assad regime. Canadian Foreign Minister Robert Nickelson said these include a ban on exporting goods, technology and weapons to Syria, and preventing Assad and his officials from entering Canada.

These punishments are imposed as Damascus refuses to end its crackdown on the Syrian people, Canada’s top diplomat added.
