In an interview with Asharqiya TV, Dr. Nadim al-Jaberi, one of the leaders of Iraqi Fadhilat Party, said: The Iranian regime is misusing the political tension and insecurity in Iraq in order to expand its meddling and presence in Iraq.

Dr. Jaberi said: This is very strange that some government officials justify the Iranian domination over some Iraqi oil wells or using them; the real owner of public wealth are the Iraqi people; this is a national issue; it is the discussion of people’s property and it shouldn’t be justified; the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq leads to strife because the Iranian regime has a strong presence and influence and has misused insecurity in Iraq during past several years.

Dr. Jaberi added: I believe the Iraqi government isn’t presently at a point to be able to negotiate on the new contract because the Iraqi side is a weak side and naturally can’t acquire the contracts which guarantee the Iraqi national interests.
