Millions of Iraqis rally in protest camps against Maliki’s policies & Iran’s meddling

INTV, 18 Oct 2013 – Millions of demonstrators in Iraq this week in the six uprising provinces of Baghdad, al-Anbar, Salahaddin, Diyala, Neinawa and Kirkuk marked their 300th day of perseverance in protest camps across the country. According to Baghdad TV millions of people on Friday morning were marching to take part in Friday prayers.
Speakers and Friday sermon leaders emphasized perseverance to have the people’s rights met.
Al-Jazeera TV in a report from the huge demonstrations in the cities of Ramadi and Fallujah reported, “A massive crowd of people in their Friday demonstrations marked the 300th day of their protest camps in six uprising provinces of Iraq. Sheikh Mohamed Fayaz, one of the organizers of these protest camps in al-Anbar, said Maliki’s government – with its irresponsible and aggressive measures against the protesters and saying they are linked to neighboring countries – seeks to provoke the protesters.”
According to reports aired by Al Jazeera and Baghdad TVs, today’s demonstration by the Iraqi people in the uprising cities and provinces took part while Maliki’s security forces resorted to various types of repressive measures intending to prevent them from holding these rallies.
According to Baghdad TV, Maliki’s security forces imposed intense security measures around a grand mosque in Baghdad and blocked all streets leading to the site with barbed wire. Al Jazeera TV reported Maliki’s security forces also implemented strict security measures around protest camps in al-Anbar Province.
The Al Jazeera Live, al-Fallujah, Baghdad, al-Rafedein, al-Tagheer, al-Samarra, al-Madar and al-Babeliya TV stations provided live coverage of the Friday prayers in the cities of Ramadi, Fallujah and Samarra.
