According to a report wired by Reuters, Nouri Maliki threatened to cut Kurdistan’s share of the federal budget if the region exports oil to Turkey via a new pipeline.
The Kurdistan Region had announced last week crude oil flow to Turkey has begun and it is expected for oil exports to begin at the end of January, and later to increase in February and March.
