Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized the Palestinian leadership will remain committed to the Egypt initiative for a ceasefire in Gaza. Egypt is one part of the negotiations, not just a mediator, and no one can have Egypt’s role in the indirect negotiations with Israel, he added.
“As we said before, our objective is to stop the war, nothing else,” President Abbas said.
