According to Kuwaiti daily Asseyassa, majority faction in Lebanese Parliament, known as Group March 14, asked the European and American countries to prevent the Iranian regime’s meddling in Lebanon.

Asseyassa wrote: The majority of Lebanon’s Parliament also asked the UN to confront the Iranian and Syrian regimes’ meddling in Lebanon.

Sheikh Sami al-Khouri, chairman of the Maronites’ Union, said: Instead of diplomatic steps, the US government should take more efficient steps to support Lebanon’s independence against the Iran-Syria evil coalition so as to prevent the civilized and peaceful face of Lebanon from becoming like Ahmadinejad and Bashar Assad.

Professor Walid Fares, senior member of the Foundation to Defend Democracy, asked the United States, France and the UN to adopt a firm position in support of “Group March 14” against the Iranian and Syrian regimes’ meddling in Lebanon’s elections in order to prevent a president that would implement the wills of these to regimes to come to power.
