Lebanon: popular rallies protesting corruption

A demonstration was held by non-government organizations in the Shohada Square of Beirut on Saturday, August 29th, protesting corruption and the unresolved problem of trash remaining on the streets in the capital of Lebanon.
This demonstration raised new demands such as a serious fight against corruption, the Ministry of Environment stepping down from his post and prosecution officials and authorities who opened fire on demonstrators last week.
Furthermore, demonstrators called for early presidential and parliamentary elections with slogans raising the Lebanese people’s demands more than ever before.
