Kouchner Urges EU for Fresh Iran Sanctions

On Oct. 15, the Financial Times reported Bernard Kouchner, France’s foreign minister, asked its EU partners to adopt independent measures to enforce pressure on Iran to end its ‘atomic defiance’.
Bernard Kouchner says it has been many years since the world faced a crisis as dangerous as that prompted by Iran’s nuclear programme.
In a video interview with the Financial Times, he said he hoped to work with colleagues in the European Union on sanctions…
Mr Kouchner also said it would be “more powerful” if sanctions on Iran’s economy – “not on the people of Iran” – were combined with the offer of a political solution.
