On Sunday, March 9, the primary cross-country Mayoralties elections were held in France. The reports of international and French media indicate that the Socialist Party gained partial superiority. Former Socialist Prime Minister Laurent Fabius said the results of elections had been persuasive.
Most of political analysts and political leaders are waiting for the results of the runoff elections, particularly in many regions including Paris and some other big French cities, the announcement of the results have turned into runoff elections in next week.
In Auver-sur-Oise, from Val-d’Oise province north of Paris, where Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, resides, the election results in the primary elections were in absolute favor for Mr. Jean Pierre Beqeut, the present mayor of Auver-sur-Oise who won 55 percent of the votes and was elected for another 6-yr term as the mayor of Auver-sur-Oise. He has been the mayor for the last three terms.
Mr. Bequet, former member of French National Assembly, is very popular and enjoys salient respect of the people in Val d’ Oise.
Jean Pierre Bequet supported President-elect of the Iranian Resistance against the mullahs’ regime’s conspiracy and the Chirac’s government attack on the office of the National Council of Resistance (NCRI) on June 17, 2003. He has repeatedly reiterated that this support is the support of freedom and human rights as the historical values of France; the values which shouldn’t be victimized in dealing with the religious dictatorship ruling Iran.
