Al-Dawa Party historian Salim al-Hassani said in an interview with Asharq al-Awsat daily, “The party currently ruling in Iraq has nothing to do with the al-Dawa Party. This is another party that can be named the Nouri Maliki party. Maliki has misused his current status and the government. In my opinion, Shiite parties who have taken the opportunity and risen to power with a terror-instigating mentality, have actually have been defeated.”
