In an interview with Al-Hurra TV, Iraqiya spokeswoman Maysoun al-Damalouji said: ’The Iraqiya bloc is the largest factionand according to democratic principles, must be given the right to establish government.’

She said: ’We are literally a national bloc. We are insisting on this and we will not accept being cornered by sectarianism.”

Regarding the coalition of Nouri Maliki and Ammar Hakim’s blocs,Iraqiya’s spokeswoman said: ’Nouri Maliki clearly stated that the objective of this coalition has been to block the path Iraqiya bloc; on the other hand this alliance has no legal basis.”
