In an interview with Al-Hurra TV, senior Iraqiya member Abdul-Elah al-Kadhim described the Iranian regime as an occupier and said Tehran has an extensive and shameful meddling in every aspect of the Iraqi government.

In response to this question that isn’t the phrase “Iranian occupation” a bit harsh, al-Kadhim said, “No. The Iranian regime’s meddling extends throughout the region. However, regarding Iraq the word ‘meddling’ is not enough. The word ‘interference’ describes the Iranian regime’s efforts in Yemen, the Persian Gulf and other countries, yet it is not enough in Iraq. The Iranian regime’s interference in Iraq is far-reaching and that is exactly why I am using the word ‘occupation’. The Iranian regime has an extensive and shameful interference in every aspect of the Iraqi government.
