Iraqi women in the eastern border city of Khaneqein demonstrated protesting the torture of female prisoners by Maliki’s forces, Al Sharqiya TV reported. The demonstrators demanded immediate intervention by the United Nations to look into the status of female prisoners’ conditions.
“We condemn the crimes committed against women in prisons. Where is Iraqi pride, where is human rights?” one women demonstrator said.
