Tariq al-Hashemi, Iraqi Vice President and Secretary General of the Iraqi Islamic Party, rejected joining the front named “Moderates”.
Asharqiya TV announced: “The penta-lateral session of the political leaders for convincing of Mr. Tariq al-Hashemi to leave the National Accord Front failed. At this session the Iraqi political leaders tried to convince him to agree on separation of the Iraqi Islamic Party from the National Accord Front and joining to the tetra-lateral coalition. But these efforts were opposed by Tariq al-Hashemi. He asserted that any discussions must take place with participation of representatives of different political entities particularly the Iraqi National List and the National Dialogue Front and others.
