According to Al-Hurra TV, Tariq al-Hashemi, Iraqi Vice President and Secretary General of the Iraqi Islamic Party, asked for early elections in Iraq.

The TV reported that Tariq al-Hashemi stressed on necessity of revision in election law and asked for total independence of those in charge of elections.
