Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said his government will not tolerate mistakes made by the political apparatus from 2003 onward, adding his cabinet will only accept the responsibility of reform, Al Jazeera reported on Monday, August 10th.
Al-Abadi issued a number of rulings the day before abolishing the posts of deputy prime ministers and vice presidents, and calling on the parliament to approve these orders.
In support of al-Abadi’s measures demonstrators in cities across Iraq called on their prime minister to fight against corrupt figures.
