
The Iraqi people’s widespread uprising continued on Friday in the 20th consecutive day of civil disobedience in 6 provinces and 12 cities, with demonstrations taking part under the slogan of “Our Iraqi is One”.
Arabic satellite TV stations reported the Taji, Abu Qarib and Azamiya districts in Baghdad; the cities of Ramadi and Fallujah in Al Anbar Province; the cities of Samara and Tikrit in Salahaddin Province; the cities of Mosul and Qiyara in Neinawa Province; the cities of Baquba and Jalula in Diyala Province; and Howaija in Kirkuk Province witnessed enormous rallies and media outlets said millions took part in these demonstrations.
Demonstrators in various cities including Baghdad chanted “The people demand government overthrow” and “Iran, out, out – Baghdad, free, free”.
In Samara, angry protesters held a placard reading “Maliki, go before they throw you out.”
