Iraqi party rejects Iranian regime’s new ambassador to Iraq

NCRI, 17 January 2010 – Dr. Ayad Jamal Aldin, member of Iraqi parliament and leader of Ahrar Party, said, “The appointment of former Revolutionary Guard commander, Hassan Danafar, as the new Iranian Ambassador to Iraq once again highlights the growing stronghold Tehran has over Iraq.”

Maliki was put in power by the Iranians and now he is allowing our great country to simply become an Iranian colony. The people of Iraq must reject this corrupt and inept government. The ambassador must be a professional diplomat, not a former Revolutionary Guard commander. There is no place for the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] in Baghdad,” says Ayad Jamal Aldin.

Meanwhile, on Thursday the Iraqi daily al-Zaman reported that Hassan Danafar who served as deputy commander of the IRGC navy under Ali Shamkhani, is a member of IRGC’s Quds Force, responsible for terrorist operations outside Iran.
