In an interview with al-Baghdadiya TV, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, Iraqi Parliament’s speaker said: “The present government has failed in fulfilling its commitments, because it has not realized the agreements it was committed to for forming a national unity government.”
He added: Iraq’s situation has got worse in various fields and requires immediate measures to be adopted.
Mashhadani asked for reducing the number of cabinet Ministers and said this number was determined due to religious rationing. He asked for activating the Parliament’s role and its committees for supervising the government affairs.
