Iraqi Parliament Speaker demanded Maliki be replaced

In an interview with Al Jazeera TV, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi said popular demonstrations in Iraq reflect Maliki’s dictatorship and autocracy.
Al-Nujaifi called for Maliki to be replaced by another individual, adding Maliki is not able to run the country and the solution is in Maliki handing in his resignation. There is also a solution in the Parliament in the form of an impeachment, and currently there are enough votes in the Parliament for such a measure, he continued.
On the expulsion of Madhat Mahmoud, the former head of Iraq’s High Judicial Council, al-Nujaifi said Mahmoud being expelled under the Accountability Law is a historic decision. Now that he has been found accountable, the big question is that how was he found accountable but remained in the highest judicial post for ten years, the Iraqi Parliament Speaker asked.
In this important interview, Osama al-Nujaifi went on to express his support for Iraqi Vice President Dr. Tareq al-Hashemi, saying al-Hashemi was the target of an enormous act of cruelty.
Al-Nujaifi stressed Iraqis do not remain silent against cruelty and the people will break the chains of repression. The Iraqi people will not return to their homes until their demands are met, he continued.
