In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV, Hoshyar Zebari, Iraqi Foreign Minister asserted: Cannonade of the Iraqi Kurdistan by the Iranian regime is violating Iraqi sovereignty and should it continues we will refer it to the UN Security Council.

Q: The Iranian regime cannonades some of the border villages in Iraq and Turkey does the same under pretext of Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK); Are not these measures violations of Iraqi sovereignty?

Zebari: All of these are violation of Iraqi sovereignty and we have repeatedly spoken with Turkish and Iranian sides to cease these cannonades.

Q: But the bombing continues; should not Iraq take this issue to the United Nations?

Zebari: There is no doubt that if the situation reaches to a dangerous point this will be done and this is Iraq’s right.
