Ján Kubiš, United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Iraq warned about the presence of militants threatening the lives of demonstrators and demanded judiciary measures against them.
Ján Kubiš said he has received reports of the presence of militants in demonstrations intended to terrify and attack the protesters and journalists, and even threatening them to death, al-Baghdadiya TV reported.
The UN envoy emphasized these reports are very concerning and Iraqi government officials must prosecute all individuals attempting to derail the peaceful demonstrations from their path and prevent journalists from carrying out their duties, al-Bagdadiya TV added.
