A source in the Anbar Operations Command linked to Maliki’s forces emphasized attacks against the city of Fallujah – taking part from four different axes – has been stopped and most of the military forces have retreated to their previous positions, al-Rafedein TV reported.
Iraqi Army forces on May 9th attempted to attack Fallujah from four different axes, this source indicated.
The Times of London had previously emphasized that Fallujah rebels had pushed back 20 ground attacks against this city and indications on the ground show that there is no means for Maliki’s army to change the existing balance of power in Anbar Province.
