Al Baghdadiya TV reported on Monday, August 31st: Demonstrations have been staged and are continuing outside the High Judiciary Council building in downtown Baghdad.

Iraqi demonstrators are demanding judiciary chief Mid’hat Mahmoud be sacked and are calling for reforms in the judiciary.

Al Baghdadiya TV also reported locals in the town of Aziziye in Waset Province staged a demonstration demanding major reforms in the judiciary and holding corrupt officials accountable. The protesters were demanding the sacking of judiciary chief Mid’hat Mahmoud.
