Iraq: armed tribes controlling 80% of Anbar Province

Abdul-Qader Nael, a senior member of the popular movement in Iraq, said armed tribes are currently controlling 80% of the region in his remarks to al-Tagheer TV about the security situation in Ramadi, capital of the restive Anbar Province.
“Considering the fact that Maliki’s military personnel don’t have military commanders, and they have only been mixed with militant forces, all of the armed tribes’ plans have finished in success,” he said.
“Armed tribes in Fallujah recently arrested 30 members of Maliki’s military personnel. They also took back Fallujah’s Hiakal region. In Fallujah it is currently the armed tribes that are staging attacks against Maliki’s forces,” Nael added.
