Iraq: anti-corruption rallies, sit-ins continuing in southern province

Anti-corruption rallies and sit-ins have been continuing in cities across southern Iraq, Al Jazeera TV reported.
Civil current supporters are continuing their sit-in in the city of Hilla in Babel Province. Protesters are calling on Iraqi Prime Minister Dr. Haider al-Abadi to hold corrupt individuals accountable, fire the governor, dissolve the provincial council and identify the culprits who attacked demonstrators two days ago.
Demonstrations are also continuing in Ziqar Province in southern Iraq.
Demonstrators in the town of Hendiya in Karbala Province, hometown of former Iraqi prime minister and dismissed vice president Nouri al-Maliki, took control over the governorate building and forced all employees out. Demonstrators also demanded the governor to be forced out of the governorate building.
Protest rallies also continued in the city of Babel.
Prime Minister al-Abadi wrote in his Tweeter account he has instructed chief of Babel Operations Command to cancel the public curfew because their units are controlling the security situation on the ground.
