Pentagon officials regarded the threat of Iran’s interventions and support of the militias in Iraq is more dangerous than its nuclear program threat, reported Baghdad T.V. reported

Talking to Los Angeles Times, an official in the US Defense Department said: the more immediate and serious threat than Iranian nuclear program is Iran’s meddling and arms smuggling into Iraq… Iran’s nuclear program needs years to be completed, but the cooperation with the armed militias is occurring now.

The Pentagon officials also told the LAT that while the Bush Administration is concentrated on the Iranian nuclear program advancement to acquire nuclear technology, the Persian Gulf region is facing great security threats from Iranian regime interferences plus arming the militias with weapons and explosives in Iraq.
