Iranian regime not invited to Davos

NCRI, 28 January 2011 – The Iranian regime has failed in its bid to secure an invitation for the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this year, according to the state-run ILNA news agency.
The forum officially started work with 30 leaders and more than 2,500 high-ranking delegates from around the world.

“Davos did not invite Iran,” ILNA complained in a story and added, “So far, the reason for the refusal to invite Iran to attend the forum in Davos has not been made clear but it appears that political motives are involved in line with a trend to confront Iran.”
Another state-run daily, Asr-e Iran wrote, “The Davos conference in Switzerland started work while, unlike the previous years, no prominent political or economic figure from Iran was in attendance.”
1,400 senior economic experts and business owners also attend the annual economic forum to discuss ways to improve the global economy and prevent downturns in the future.
