Iraqi MP Sha’lan Abdol-karim from the Iraqiya slate said, “Maliki’s government cannot respond to the Iranian regime’s shelling because the Iranian regime has influence into Iraq’s policymaking and hegemony over this country’s political decisions.”
“The fact that this government has no stance regarding the Iranian regime’s aggressions on borders, shelling of Kurdistan border villages and cutting off the water of Alwand River are due to Maliki’s weakness,” he added.
Based on a report aired by al-Baghdadie TV, Sha’lan criticized the signing of a new economic agreement with the Iranian regime while this regime is attacking Kurdistan regions. “The Parliament is waiting for a report by a fact-finding committee in this regard to discuss various methods of responding to the Iranian regime’s aggressions.”
