
In an interview with Fox News TV, Walid Fares, senior member of the Foundation to Defend Democracy in Washington, referring to widespread opposition against the mullahs’ regime, asserted on necessity of support of the Iranian opposition and the Iranian people’s protests against that regime.
Walid Fares said: The Iranian people are dissatisfied with the Iranian regime’s policies which have caused the economic sanctions. In such a condition the regime faces a known and real opposition in Iran. Also serious opposition is expressed against this regime by minorities, women and students.
Fares asserted on necessity of change of Ahmadinejad’s government and confronting its nuclear ambitions. He added: The United States and other members of international society should compel the Iranian regime to desist its policies. The United States should support opposition, students and youth. Majority of Iranians are completely opposed to this regime. The Iranian youth and Iran’s future are not with this regime.
