The State Department Website quoted US Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew Shapiro saying despite major changes in the region, the threat from the Iranian regime continues.
Shapiro made these recent remarks at a speech delivered at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. The Iranian regime continues to attempt to disrupt peace and stability in the region and abroad, he added.
Shapiro continued his speech by saying the Iranian regime has reached a critical stage especially during its expansion in the last few years. The dangers of this regime, he continued, exceed its nuclear program. This subject came under the spot light during the past month with revelations of a plot to murder the Saudi envoy on American soil, Shapiro explained.
