The VOA news on March 7, 2008 reported the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte in a briefing in the US Congress called the Iranian regime a source of trouble making in the Middle East.

John Negroponte told the Congressional panel “we are bound to promote democracy in Iran and I am the first to agree with you that the Iranian regime is the cause of trouble making in the whole Middle East”.
