Iran officials completely cutoff major river flow into Iraq 80 days ago

The governor of the Diyala Province town of Khaneqein located near the Iran-Iraq border said Iranian officials nearly 3 months ago completely cutoff the waters of Alvand River into Iraq.
“This has taken place many times, each time increasing the number of days the river has been blocked,” said Samir Mohammad Nour, head of the Khaneqein city council in an interview with al-Sumariya TV.
He called on the central government to come up with a true solution to resolve the water problem of this river and prevent the Iranian regime from continuously cutting off this water supply.
