The office of Dick Cheney, US Vice President published his detailed speech in the Washington Institute for Near Eastern Policy. In this speech, Dick Cheney called the Iranian regime “the world’s most active state sponsor of terror,” and said: The regime in Iran actively supports terrorism and is directly involved in efforts to disrupt U.S. and allied efforts to stabilize Iraq. The Iranian regime is responsible for providing arms, trainings and money for the militias in order to kill American soldiers. It also prepares the operational plans for these groups. Its real agenda is fomenting violence against the Multi National Forces. The Iranian regime is worried of formation of a strong and independent Shiite Arab society in Iraq that takes its orders from Najaf and Karbala and not Qom.
Dick Cheney added: The greatest strategic threat that Iraqi Shiites face today for building new democracy in this country is the disruptive activities of the Iranian regime. ” The Quds Force, a branch of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, is trying to establish a terrorist organization within Iraq that’s dedicated to destabilizing the Iraqi government”
In light of Iran’s efforts to destabilize the Middle East for its own gain, it is all too dangerous for peaceful nations of the world to allow it to pursue technology that could be used to develop nuclear weapons, Cheney said.
“The Iranian regime needs to know that if it stays on its present course, the international community is prepared to impose serious consequences,” Cheney said. “The United States joins other nations in sending a clear message: We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon”
