Guards at the notorious Evin Prison in the capital Tehran raided prison cells of Ward 7 on Saturday bulling and threatening prisoners to destroy their personal belongings.
This is the second time that Ward 7 has been raided and searched during past 4 weeks. The raid has been conducted under the pretext of inspection, while the ward is equipped with close circuit TV cameras and the prisoners are under constant surveillance.
The prison authorities threatened prisoners of cutting off all communication and phones lines which prompted the prisoners to object and protest. The prisoners’ objection sparked a massive raid and clashes between the prisoners and the guards. 
There are currently more than 50 political prisoners placed alongside common criminals in a sharp contrast to the judicial law of prison segregation.
The Special Guards in the Ward 350 of the notorious Evin Prison have also raided prison cells searching and inspecting the prisoners’ belongings.
