In an interview with FOX News, General Ray Odierno, commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, underscored that tht Iranian regime is a long- term threat to Iraq’s independence and future. He added although elements associated with al- Qaeda still exist in Iraq, they cannot be a threat anymore.

Regarding Iran’s meddling in Iraq Odierno said that the Iranian regime is severly meddling in Iraq as well as other places in the Middle East. He added he still believes Iran is a potential threat against Iraq’s independence and future.
