An Iraqi source cited Vice President Khozeir Khazaii as saying President Jalal Talabani has decided he will not return to Baghdad as long as Maliki is prime minister, the Kurdish ‘Hawollati’ daily website reported.
The Iraqi ‘al-Khalil’ website also published a report saying after his trip to Sulaymaniya, Khazaii announced that Talabani has asked him to inform senior officials of the United Alliance (an alliance consisting of Maliki’s State of Law coalition, the National Alliance and Sadr’s bloc) that as long Maliki is Iraq’s prime minister, he will not return to Baghdad nor pursue any of the tasks of the Presidency because he no longer has any trust in Maliki…
Based on this website’s report, Khazaii went to the house of former Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim Jafari and delivered Talabani’s message numerous United Alliance senior officials.
Khazaii added Talabani has said since Maliki has insulted the President by violating laws and moral regulations, he has decided to stop providing any support for Maliki.
