The UN officials announced that the human rights situation is deteriorating in Iraq. John Holmes, deputy of general director in humanitarian affairs in the U.N. said in an interview with Reuters: “ 4 million Iraqis suffer food shortages. Only 40% of the people have access to drinking water. About 1/3 of Iraq’s population are deprived of sanitarian services.
