German Parliament approves €86bn aid plan for Greece

The German Parliament, Bundestag, has with a majority vote approved a €86bn aid package from Euro states for Greece. The first portion of this aid plan, worth €13bn, was placed at Athens’ disposal on Thursday, August 20th.
German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said any decrease in the amount of Greece’s government liabilities is now cancelled and in the month of October there will be a joint evaluation about the ability to repay this liability.
At the first stage €13bn will be placed at Greece’s disposal to take action on repaying its liability loans and meet the upcoming deadline in this regard. Furthermore, another €10bn will be paid to this financial institution to strengthen the assets of German banks.
The parliaments of Spain, Estonia and Austria approved this plan on Wednesday. Dutch MPs voted on the third phase of the financial aid package for Greece on Wednesday.
