
Arab coalition warships launched major artillery fire on Houthi positions south of Port Al-Hudaydah, Al Arabiya reported on Friday, August 14th. This is the first time Houthi militants and Arab coalition warships exchanged fire. Houthi militants are known to use this port as the main support line for its elements in Ta’izz Province where they have gathered in during the past few days.
In other reports, coalition warplanes conducted airstrikes on Houthi militants on 30th Street in the city of Ibb where popular resistance forces are making further advances.
In Ta’izz a number of members of the army and security units linked to ousted dictator Ali Abdullah Salah announced their defection from these units and joined the popular resistance forces.
A number of Presidential Guard elements linked to Salah surrendered following attacks by popular resistance forces against militant positions in Ma’rib Province, tribal sources said.
In the city of Reda’ in al-Bayda Province popular resistance forces launched heavy attacks on Houthi positions, leaving numerous militants killed and injured.
Eyewitnesses also reported dozens of armored vehicles and missile launchers, along with hundreds of trained National Army members in Ad Dali’ Province have begun their movements to provide aid to popular resistance forces in the city of Razma. These units are now stationed on hill tops overlooking the strategic city of Yarim.
