Asharq Al Awsat daily cited the revolutionary military council in Aleppo on Monday reporting Free Syrian Army fighters targeted with anti-air artillery an Iranian cargo plane carrying weapons and ammunition before landing in Aleppo International Airport, forcing the plane to change course.
“This plane, carrying weapons and missiles, was targeted at low altitude by the rebels and parts of the fuselage erupted in flames,” Aleppo News Network reported.
FSA rebels present at the scene saw missiles, weapons and bombs being unloaded from the plane while in air after the fire began.
