Friday rallies in Iraq continue with calls for Maliki to step down & Iran to stop criminal meddling

INTV, 8 Nov 2013 – Friday unity prayers and nationwide demonstrations continued on Friday in the six uprising provinces including Baghdad, al-Anbar (the cities of Ramadi and Fallujah), Salahaddin (cities of Samarra and Tikrit), Neinawa, Kirkuk and Diyala (cities of Baquba, Meqdadiya and Jalula).
The speakers in the rallies of Ramadi and Fallujah described Maliki’s government as cruel and emphasized on continuing their protests until all their demands are met. The Iraqi people’s demonstrations in various cities were staged while Maliki’s repressive forces had imposed numerous suppressive measures aimed at preventing any rallies. According to Fallujah TV eyewitnesses in al-Anbar province said Maliki’s security forces implemented serious martial law rules in the town of al-Taremiya following an explosion that targeted the base of the 22nd Brigade in this town. The security forces imposed a huge siege on this region.
The TV stations of al-Fallujah, Baghdad, al-Rafedein, al-Tagheer and al-Jazeera Live, al-Gharbiya, Samarra and al-Babeliya TV provided direct coverage of Friday’s demonstration.
