French President Francois Hollande in a telephone call with new Iraqi Prime Minister Heidar al-Abadi welcomed the formation of a national unity government in Iraq.
According to a statement released by Elysee Palace, Hollande confirmed France’s commitment to expand humanitarian aid and presenting necessary supplies to forces clashing with ISIS.
On the other hand, the French Foreign Ministry welcomed the recent United Nations Security Council resolution condemning ISIS, adding France emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive political solution and calls on the new prime minister to form a government quickly to respond to this goal.
