The French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner called the Iranian nuclear program “a potential threat” that is an issue of great importance to France.
Answering a question on possibility of final decision as President Sarkozy said for the last resort Iran could be bombed if it persisted in building an atomic weapon, Kouchner emphasized, “I hope we never get to that point but we have prepared ourselves for the worst situation”.
As to Ahmadinejad’s comment to wipe out Israel, he said: “whenever the Iranian President makes such comments he will face firm reaction of opposition and surprise by France.”
