
Coinciding with attacks across Syria, rebels in Deir Azzur took control over a strategic base and closed the logistics route used by Assad forces in this area, Orient TV reported.
Rebels were able to take control over the Albukamal base in Deir Azzur, launching the attack with dozens of mortar rounds and freeing the base as a result. In this operation Ammar Alawi, the commander of the so-called National Defense paramilitary force, was killed while 13 other ‘Shabiha’ mercenaries of Assad were wounded. The base of these forces was also the target of FSA rebels launching dozens of rockets.
In other news intense clashes erupted between ISIS and the rebels where two ISIS members were killed.
