France will dispatch bombers in the coming weeks to target ISIS in Syria, Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Wednesday.
“We will launch our airstrikes at the first chance that we have properly identified targets,” Drian added. “The presence of ISIS in Syria has expanded in the past few months.”
Prior to this French President Francoise Holland had emphasized that an increased concern over Syrian refugees played a major role in this decision made by the French government.
Last week France began its recon flights over Syria.
