French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe stepped up pressure to support a UN Security Council resolution against the Syrian government’s bloody crackdown on protests, Al-Arabiya reported.
Speaking during a visit to Australia on Sunday, Juppe said the UN’s failure to condemn the actions of Syrian security forces against anti-government protesters was a “scandal”.
Juppe’s comments followed protests in Syria where activists called for international protection from Bashar Assad’s security forces.
